First partial exam

The gift of work
Nothing worth having comes easy. The best stories of humanity have been performed by people who first believed in the beauty of their dreams and then did something about it. Work and discipline lead to greatness. This is a combination of values that the most successful understand and apply every single day. But what happens when someone is actually too comfortable to have a dream and work for it? Many things could happen but the sad part of the story is that nothing happens. People survive in a miserable way because they don't realize what they are actually capable of achieving. Due to his and many other reasons, this essay will talk about the importance of the gift of work in Jason Steven's life affirming that the gift of work plays a key role in Jason's understanding of success.

Too comfortable to dream and work for it
At the initial part of this essay it was mentioned that some people are too comfortable to work for their dreams (assuming that they have one). Nevertheless, this is especially dangerous for young people. It ruins vitality and passion which are sings of youth. Some may think that Jason's life is almost perfect. He has everything he wants whenever he wants, and money is not an issue in his life. However, this lack of challenge has buried many abilities he doesn't even know he has. Money itself is not bad but in many cases (the movie is one example) the fact of not knowing how to manage it, hurts more than it helps. Based on this premise, and perhaps on other Red Steven's intentions, is that the gift of work starts making sense.

Yeah, I dream, now what?
Jason got many gifts, but the first one he got what this one: the gift of work. This is not a coincidence. The first thing he had to learn was that working hard is the base for everything. Nothing could happen working. Martin Luther King had a big dream but it wouldn't have become such if he hadn't worked on it. The same happens with the big people in history: work and dedication, there is no other clue. If Jason hadn't worked when he had to, Emily's home wouldn't have been possible. Moreover, hard work makes people appreciate what they do even more. There is this phrase that says: hell is full of men with good intentions. Nothing could be more accurate. Having an idea, a dream or an intention is not enough. The bridge between someone and that person's dreams has a name, and it is called hard work.

So far it has been remarked the big value that work has in a person's life especially in Jason's life. It might sound rude to focus a lot on hard work but then this other concept appears: the love for self's objectives. Work is only heavy when a person doesn't have a clear goal. When a person knows where he or she is going, it is a game. There is no need of time, the person invents time.

In order to end this essay, it ha to be said that even all gifts and lessons Jason got were important, the gift of work is the base of everything and it makes all the other gifts possible. Nothing could have been possible without it. The big emporium of Jason's grandfather wouldn't have existed. Therefore, it is affirmed that the gift of work played a key role in Jason's understanding of success given that provides the platform to get anything in life.

  1. I also chose work as the best gifts of them all, and it certainly plays an essential point Jason´s reflection.
